You’ve been asking for a month, and now we’re ready to go. Our fall reading program starts October 1, and we kick it off with a special history event in the library’s backyard.
Ages 6 to 12 can join us Wednesday, October 1 for a Graveyard History Hunt at 4 p.m. We will meet in the library’s back courtyard and then visit the Old Congregational Burial Ground for some in-person history. Children will be challenged to find the oldest grave, the most intriguing inscription, and other historical facts. It’s rain or shine (barring thunder) – wear boots as necessary! A cell phone, tablet, or other digital camera may help you hunt faster as you document your finds.
To sign up, call 203-385-4165 or email us at childrens [at] stratfordlibrary.org
And for Read Around Stratford, we encourage all children to sign up anytime in October. Stop by the library to receive a game sheet to keep track of books read with prizes for each month and a party at the end. Special events and challenges throughout the year. Thank you to the Carol Pieper Memorial Fund for funding our beautiful game sheets.
