Holiday Concerts

Get into the holiday spirit by enjoying seasonal music! The concerts will all be performed live in the Library Lovell Room. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first serve basis. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to start time.

The Larry Haddad Quartet
Sunday, December 3 | 2pm 
Stratford’s Haddad will be joined with Michael Nunno (Milford), Joseph McWilliams (Seymour) and Joseph Corsello (Stamford) to perform several favorite holiday songs with their lyrical interpretations.

The New England Guitar Society
Sunday, December 10 | 2pm 
NEGS, established to create a nurturing environment for classical guitarists to meet, share ideas, perform, compose, teach and grow as musicians, returns to the library to play holiday favorites.

Stratford Sister Cities Chorus Holiday Concert
Monday, December 11 | 6:30pm 
Enjoy holiday songs with Stratford’s community choral group!

A Broadway Christmas with Soloist Claire Kaiser
Sunday, December 17 | 2pm 
The Stratford vocalist and actress is a “mezzo-soprano with belt” who will perform holiday music with a Broadway beat. Accompanied by David Childs on the piano, Kaiser promises holiday cheer and fun for the whole family!

 

WORKSHOP: Surprise Photos with Your Cell Phone!
Tuesday, December 12 | 1pm or 6:30pm | Lovell Room
The workshop leader is Dee Hiatt, of the Cell Photo Project currently exhibited at the library.
You will have the opportunity to practice:
1. Looking at your surroundings slowly and calmly.
2. Waiting to take a photo until you are intrigued by something.
3. Editing the photo, if necessary, while keeping the honesty of what you photographed.
4. Sharing your photos with the participants.

CAREER COACH: Excel Class on the Career Coach
Monday, December 11 | 10am to 12pm or 1 to 3pm | Bus will park by the library
Think Excel is tough? No longer! Learn the basics and become a better Excel user in this 2 hour workshop. Sign up to reserve a space.
This Excel Workshop is offered in the morning from 10am-12pm and will be repeated in the afternoon from 1-3pm.The same material will be presented in each 2-hour workshop, participants only need to attend one of the sessions.

Coloring & Coffee

Don’t let stress get you down! Try coloring for adults! Coloring has many benefits including helping you to focus and de-stress. Stop in and give it a try. The Library will supply coloring pages, colored pencils and markers, plus coffee and tea. You are welcome to bring your own supplies too.

Gingerbread House Decorating Party
Thursday, December 14 | 6:30pm | Lovell Room
Adults only holiday fun! Come and decorate a “Gingerbread House”. We will provide the houses, icing, candy & other treats for you to customize your mini house made of graham crackers. Listen to holiday music and enjoy hot cocoa, coffee or tea.

Join the library’s drop-in knitting program! Also crochet! Make new friends, get tips and share ideas while working on your own projects. Held every other Wednesday evening 6:00-7:30pm.
