Rhymes:
Five Spring Flowers
Five spring flowers, all in a row.
The first one said, “We need rain to grow!”
The second one said, “Oh, we need water!”
The third one said, “Yes, it is getting hotter!”
The fourth one said, “I see clouds in the sky.”
The fifth one said, “But I wonder why?”
Then BOOM went the thunder
And ZAP went the lightning!
That springtime storm was really frightening!
But the flowers weren’t scared – oh, no, no, no!
The rain helped them to grow, grow, GROW!
Spring Is Coming
Spring is coming, spring is coming
Birdies, build your nest
Weave together straw and feather
Do your very best.
Spring is coming, spring is coming
Wind begins to blow
Rain comes showering on the ground
Makes the flowers grow.
Spring is coming, spring is coming
Flowers coming up
Pansies, lilies, daffodils
And yellow buttercup.
Spring is coming, spring is coming
Weather’s turning fair
The sun is shining on the earth
And warming up the air.
April Clouds
Two little clouds one April Day (make two fists)
Went sailing across the sky (move fists side to side)
They went so fast, they bumped their heads (bump fists together)
And both began to cry. (rub eyes with hands)
Out came the big round sun who said (make circle with arms)
“Never mind my little dears (shrug shoulders)
I’m going to send my sunbeams down (wiggle fingers downward)
To dry your fallen tears.”
