The Stratford Library is pleased to partner with the Stratford Health Department to offer two GARDEN LENDING KITS to library patrons.
Created by Greta Broneill and Kelly Meier and funded by a Rotary Community Impact Grant, each kit contains a notebook, seeds, gardening tools and the book, Growing Vegetable Soup.
Kits can be checked out from the Children’s Department and can be kept for 3 weeks. They are located in the Picture Book area on the shelves above the Easy Reader books (right next to our ukuleles!)
There are a wide variety of seeds available for you to try! The kits have been updated with new seeds for 2021.
You may use whatever seeds you want, and return the rest in the plastic bags that are provided.
The notebook includes lots of gardening tips, healthy recipes, coloring pages and activity sheets for kids that you can take.
Please make sure to wash the watering can, gardening tools and gloves before you return the kit.
Bring the kit directly to the Children’s Department so we can check it in and replace the items that were used.
We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful resource and plant your own garden!
