American Sign Language 101
Learn the basics of ASL! Teen volunteer instructor Emily will cover the alphabet along with current conversational symbols & phrases. Practice your skills with other interested teens too.  Register for the Zoom invite. Grades 5-12.

Grab ‘n’ Go Kit: Rock Candy Chemistry Online
Teens & Tweens: Try your hand at making rock candy & discover the sweet chemistry of crystallization! Each kit includes the basic ingredients you’ll need as well as a mini science lesson. Please note: There is no Zoom meetup for this activity. If you’d like to share how your rock candy turned out (we hope you will!), snap & post a pic and tag us (@stratfordlib) on Instagram or Twitter. For grades 5-12. Register here.

QuaranTween Scavenger Hunt Online
Slip on your sneakers & get ready to race…inside! We’ve gathered a list of household items we challenge you to find & retrieve for points. The tween/teen with the most points in the end will win a prize! Grades 5-8.

Tween Build It! Challenge Online
Pick up a kit & build the mystery challenge with the supplies you’re given &/or use materials you have at home. Be creative & have fun! Meet upon Zoom to show off your creation!

The first 15 registrants will receive either a call or an email from the Teen Dept. to schedule a Grab ‘n’ Go pick-up time slot. You can register for a kit 2 weeks before the program date starting on July 28. While supplies last. A supply list & instructions will be available to everyone. Once we run out of kits, you are still welcome to join the Zoom meeting, but you will need to provide your own supplies. Grades 5-8.

Friendship Bracelet: Grab ‘n’ Go
Sign up for a Friendship Bracelet: Grab ‘n’ Go kit to help beat back the quarantine blues! Work on the kit alone or with a sibling/friend & explore your creativity. Please note: There is no Zoom meet up for this program. If you’d like to share your finished creation with us, snap a photo & tag us (@stratfordlib) on Instagram using the hashtag: #boredombuster.

Dungeons & Dragons Club Online
You’re invited on a daring journey through… well, you’ll just have to join our Teen Discord server to find out what Dungeon Master Ethan has in store for you! Newbies to the world of role-playing are welcome. Returning D&D adventurers: We have digital copies of your character sheets; email us at ucreate@stratfordlibrary.org and we’ll send them to you. For grades 6-13. Register and we’ll email you instructions for joining Discord (if you haven’t already!).
*Access to a computer/laptop, smartphone, or tablet is required.

Digital Art Lab Online
Teens: Join teen uCreate volunteer Kelly to learn basic drawing techniques and discover how to use the Library’s Wacom digital drawing tablet. Register to reserve a drawing Grab ‘n’ Go kit starting 2 weeks before the event (starting date: July 27). The first 20 registrants will be called & scheduled for a Grab ‘n’ Go pick-up time slot. Then, join us at 7 pm on 8/10 for a draw-along on Zoom*.
For grades 6 – freshman year of college.

Pop-Up Summer Challenge #5 Online
Complete fun bi-monthly challenges through our Teen Discord Server all summer long to be entered into our $10 gift card prizes drawings!
Drop-in any time during the two week window to participate; each challenge will be simple, easy, & virtual. AND depending on the challenge, you might be able to submit multiple entries! If you’re already a member of our Teen Discord Server, hop on over to the Pop-Up Challenge channel & post your entry. If you’re not yet a member, email:slateen@stratfordlibrary.org & we’ll send you the Discord invite link. Once you’ve made a free account (if you don’t already have one) & joined our server, you’ll gain access to our challenge & so much more.

Teen Book Buzz
Hear about the latest & greatest teen books, share what you’re reading, & special bonus: we’ll curate & ship attendees a special assortment of ARCs (Advance Reader Copies) to their house to add to their personal book collection. No need to return—they’re yours to keep forever. This program will be held on Zoom.

Teen Book Bag #3: Scythe Online
We’ve curated three book bags—one for each month of summer—of awesome reads sure to shake off the reading blues. Read the book on your own & then join us on Zoom at the end of the month to share your thoughts! Didn’t get a chance to finish reading? Not to worry—still join us for a fun chat! Can’t make it to be meeting but still would like a book bag? Then be sure to register to snag a spot. Each bag contains a copy of the book we’re discussing, a snack, drink, & small gift that is yours to keep—forever! And if you miss out on our final Teen Book Bag of the summer, you can still join our last meet up by checking out a print or digital copy of the title with your library card.
