Sweet and Saucy Spare Ribs

This is my mother's most "famous" recipe. Every summer the entire family (4 generations) gathers to enjoy grandma's rib recipe, and to celebrate multiple birthdays and holidays at one big picnic.

  • 3 lbs pork spare ribs
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • cup corn syrup
  • cup lemon juice
  • ½ tsp dry mustard
  • ¼ tsp cloves
  • ¼ tsp Tabasco sauce
  • ¼ tsp salt

  • Combine all ingredients into a marinade. Pour over ribs. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Set aside marinade. Grill ribs over charcoal or under broiler until brown to enhance taste, perhaps 10 minutes. Wrap ribs in foil with marinade. Wrap foil tightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
