Exciting news this month! In addition to our Propagation Station Houseplant Cutting Swap, we are thrilled to introduce the Community Seed Share with our partner Divinity Adivina®️!
For the Community Seed Share – Whether sowing your first seed indoors or outdoors, tending a flourishing garden, or nurturing a small farm or homestead, all are welcome. Community members at every stage of their gardening journey are invited to learn, receive, donate and exchange seeds.

Don’t Know Much About Book Discussion
Wednesday, May 13 | 11am | Lovell Room
Join our next “Don’t Know Much About” book discussion of The Women with the Cure by Lynn Cullen, a novel based on the true story of Dorothy Horstmann, a key player in the development of the polio vaccine. Despite humble beginnings, challenges to obtaining her education, underfunding for her research, and great personal sacrifice, Horstmann dedicated her life to the discovery that (contrary to the science of the time) polio travels through the blood to the nervous system. Horstmann was the first woman appointed as a professor at Yale School of Medicine.

Join us at Riverview Bistro, 946 Ferry Blvd, Stratford, CT 06614 . We will meet at 7:00pm and then start our discussion at 7:30pm.
We will be discussing Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton, a moving and fascinating meditation on freedom, trust, loss, and our relationship with the natural world, explored through the story of one woman’s unlikely friendship with a wild hare. We witness first-hand the joy at this extraordinary relationship between human and animal, which serves as a reminder that the best things, and most beautiful experiences, arise when we least expect them.

Little Gems Book Discussion

Join our next “Little Gems” book discussion of Wobble to Death, the debut novel of legendary British mystery author Peter Lovesey. London, 1879. This month BOC will be discussing The Pretender by Jo Harkin. Inspired by a footnote to history, The Pretender is the true story of the little-known Simnel, who was a figurehead of the 1487 Yorkist rebellion and ended up working as a spy in the court of King Henry VII. Historical fiction at its finest, this is a gripping, exuberant, rollicking portrait of British monarchy and life within the court, with a cast of unforgettable heroes and villains drawn from fifteenth-century England.

Joan: Life Beyond The Script
Saturday, March 21 | 1pm | Obodo Serendipity Books
We are teaming up with Obodo Serendipity Books for a discussion of Joan Lunden’s new book. Be inspired by her willingness to step out of her comfort zone while reinventing herself and the environment around her.
No need to have read the book, we will be focusing our program on reflecting on our own lives and how we can grow, while enjoying some light refreshments. We will be giving away 10 of her books at the discussion. You must attend the program to get a book.

Learn what you need to successfully use Microsoft Word!
The workshop will cover:
– Managing the Ribbon: Learning how to control and organize the menu bar at the top of the screen in software.
– Navigating the Keyboard: Getting better at moving around on the computer using just the keyboard, not the mouse.
– Learning how to efficiently use the buttons and menus at the top of computer programs to accomplish your tasks effectively.
– Discover handy shortcuts you can use to finish up your document faster!
There will be time to practice what you learned at the end of the session.
